Cookinshow’s gourmet cooking class is an alternative and innovative experience, it is not a cooking class but a special tasting on sight, thanks to which you will discover anecdotes, stories and recipes of Sicilian gastronomic culture in a gourmet version, comfortably in your holiday home. Designed for travelers who want to live an authentic experience, without effort and without losing too many hours during their holiday in Sicily, but want to eat typical products and recipes and learn and see how the most authentic dishes are prepared in a short time. In just 2 hours you will taste the most famous dishes of Sicilian Italian history in the world. From fresh hand-kneaded pasta to arancine and cannoli, all accompanied by excellent local products and a varied typology of local wines produced with native grapes. Specifically, the experience begins with toasts, seed coppi and a glass of wine at your home that will be the scene of the show, in absolute comfort. The gourmet cooking class includes traditional products and preparations with some variations based on fresh fish from the local sea: from Mazzara’s red prawns to squid and bruschettoni with fish caponata without forgetting the bruschettone with sheep’s milk ricotta, dried tomatoes and toasted breadcrumbs, a riot of local aromas and flavors. There will also be a tasting of pasta prepared on sight, flours produced with Sicilian grains using techniques typical of southern Italy will be used, spaghetti chitarra seasoned with typical fish-based sauce and busiate, a typical format of eastern Sicily. The local food guides will explain all the secrets for a perfect pasta and the differences between egg pasta from northern Italy and southern Italy using only water and durum wheat flour. Arancina with fish, seasoned on sight and fried in boiling oil will amaze you. The experience ends with the passito wine of Pantelleria and the Sicilian cannoli that will be stuffed during the tasting and whose origins and stories will leave you breathless.
